Did fall even happen this year?

We are finally almost done with our fall clean ups! A couple weeks ago, we received our first dropping of snow for the season and we were concerned we were not going to be able to get it done. Luckily, the weather decided to start cooperating and we did. There are many benefits of doing a final check on your yard before winter; check out the things we recommend and the benefits each provide below. Also, scroll to the bottom to check out a video of our crew cleaning up leaves this fall!

1. Leaf Cleanup

Throughout the fall season, leaves should be removed regularly as they fall. The longer leaves lay around and the thicker they accumulate, and the greater the damage could be for your grass. So, whether you rake, mow or blow them, your leaves need cleaned up before winter to avoid lawn damage.

2. Lawn Aeration & Ferilization

Aerating your lawn helps nutrients get into the soil which in turns helps you have a healthier yard. Aerating before fertilizing allows the nutrients to more easily reach deeper into the roots and soil. Fertilizing in the fall is important so ensure your lawn has enough nutrients stored up to get a healthy start in the spring.

3. Trim Bushes & Cut Back Plants

Fall is a great time to do one last round of bush trimming so your property looks well maintained throughout winter. Make sure to trim the bushes before it is too cold out! Along with trimming bushes, cut back plants that will grow back in the spring like tall grasses and Daylillies.
